Lusomorango is the largest national producer organisation (PO) in the fruit and vegetable sector in terms of turnover and is dedicated to the production and marketing of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries.
Lusomorango was founded in 2005 and today employs several dozen producers who work every day to offer consumers the finest and highest quality fruit in Portugal.
Their raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and strawberries grow in the south-west of the Alentejo, the Algarve and the Ribatejo, where the soil and climate conditions, which are strongly influenced by the Atlantic, favour the production of high-quality fruit with an intense flavour. On the many hundreds of hectares that they cultivate, they combine nature with the most sustainable agricultural practices.
Due to their characteristics, the small fruits of the Lusomorango are sought after throughout Europe and delight even the most demanding consumers. Today, over 95% of their production goes to international markets, including the countries of Central and Northern Europe.
The joint efforts of their producers make Lusomorango to the largest fruit and vegetable producer organisation in Portugal in terms of turnover. This makes them an important hub for national agricultural exports. The small fruit sector currently accounts for more than 230 million euros in sales abroad, with raspberries now the 'champion fruit' of Portuguese exports, accounting for more than 80% of the sector's sales in foreign markets.
Due to its organisational capacity, Lusomorango is a real value aggregator for its more than four dozen shareholders, offering important economies of scale in terms of sustainability, innovation and market approach.
